Launches Tech Investor Summit
2003 to Meet Growing Needs of Institutional Investors
New Event Provides Institutional
Investors Unprecedented Access
to Independent Research and
Regulated Presentations from
IT Companies
STAMFORD, CONN., July 1, 2003 — Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT and
ITB) announced a new type of
event, designed to connect institutional investors with exclusive
independent research, end-user-focused
content and strictly regulated
presentations from technology companies.
Gartner Tech Investor Summit
will take place on November
10-12, 2003 at the Grand Hyatt at Grand Central in New York City.
The event will enable institutional investors
to benefit from independent
market research from Gartner and other leading analysts, and meet
with technology companies to make more
informed buying and selling
decisions.
The keynote address will be
delivered by Leon Panetta,
one of the foremost U.S. economic policymakers of the last 20 years.
Mr. Panetta currently co-chairs the Corporate
Accountability and Listing
Standards Committee for the NYSE. He also serves on the NYSE Board
of Directors. Previously, he served
as White House chief of staff
during the Clinton administration and as director of the Office
of Management and Budget.
In addition to the keynote,
analyst sessions and a series
of CIO panels, investors can expect to hear from more than 70 companies
spanning multiple aspects of
IT. Individual tracks will
focus on areas such as wireless, security, enterprise software
and Web services. Leading investment banks
and a range of service- and
product-based organizations focused on the investment community
will participate as sponsors and exhibitors.
“
Gartner Tech Investor Summit
was built from the inside out, reflecting the desire of the investment
community for a new kind of industry event,” said Alexa McCloughan,
vice president of market development for Gartner. “Our research
shows that investors want independent
content, trustworthy market analysis and company presentations
that have real quality controls.”
"
The agenda for Gartner Tech
Investor Summit will be different from that of traditional industry
events in three critical ways,” said Anne-Marie Roussel,
vice president of research at Gartner. “Strict selection
criteria will be utilized to
determine which organizations get invited to present. All presenting
companies must adhere to pre-determined
presentation formats to ensure
quality, consistency and relevancy. And, Gartner participation
insures that the audience will hear
the voice of the end user.”
Gartner's global technology
conferences provide unparalleled
access to cutting-edge products,
vendors and market insights. Through its Gartner Executive Programs
(EXP), Gartner is the leader
in delivering “real-world” research
and face-to-face events to the world’s largest community
of CIOs. Gartner also maintains a close affinity and a wide range
of working relationships with leading investment banks. Gartner
Tech Investor Summit will reflect the world-class content and operational
excellence that has come to define Gartner’s delivery of
